One of the highlights of my recent trip to Rome was discovering ‘Antica Stamperia Trevi’ a printer that opened its doors in 1780.

What caught my attention was the simplicity of the place and the beautiful paper sets that I saw in the windows. I came in to ask if they were available to purchase as it looked more like a workspace than a store. Sergio Franci, the man in charge of this fascinating place, told me that I could buy them and carefully showed them to me.

While I was trying to decide which one to purchase, I started to talk to Franci. He was preparing some (very well presented ) small boxes with invitations and cards ready to be sent to his exclusive clientele from all over the world.

Since 1780 Antica Stamperia Trevi has been working for Kings, Queens, Popes, Cardinals, Ministers…yet this place is anything but pretentious.

The craftsmanship and savior- faire is what really stands out. Sergio only works with traditional techniques on a laborious process in order to keep the traditional Italian motto ‘Bello e Ben Fatto’ alive.

Grazie mille Sergio!
